I have lived here in
Accrington
for nearly twenty years, having moved from
Burnley
with my young family not long after we were
married.
I was brought up by Christian parents; I was regularly taken along to
church and attended Sunday School each week, where I learned much about God, the Bible and the Lord Jesus Christ. I began to pray to
God when I still very young. When I was in the last year of Primary school
I became a Christian too after recognising that I had committed actual sins
against God.
Over the many years of trusting in God I have come to realise that
Christianity is more about relationship than religion. I have a friendship
with the one who gave himself to death on a cross – I can bring any worries
or concerns I have to Jesus, knowing that he will always be there for me.
Not only I do have a fellowship with Jesus, I also have fellowship with
others that have been forgiven too. God has adopted many people into his family, all those who have true faith in his Son. Each week when I
spend time worshipping God I also share time with people God has brought into his family.
One of the amazing things about spending time in a church is to see how
God works within the lives of those who trust him. It’s great to see how
God is changing the people around me within the church, as he has promised
to do.
And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory,
are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which
comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. 2 Corinthians 3:18
I recommend this Saviour to you as the one who can also rescue you from
your sin and the guilt of your sin - will you take time to find out more
about Jesus?
